1. How we ask for payment
- Every payment request follows a written quote you have agreed to, and comes as an invoice or a secure payment link with your booking reference.
- We send it from an @geob.co.ke email address, usually safaris@geob.co.ke. We may also send a copy on WhatsApp from +254 728 136 167.
- The payee is always Geob Ventures, never a person's name.
2. How you can pay
- Bank transfer to our company bank account, with the details printed on your invoice.
- Card or M-Pesa through a secure payment link from IntaSend, our licensed payment provider. The link opens a page on IntaSend's secure (https) domain, not a form in an email.
Your bank, card issuer or mobile-money provider may charge fees on international transfers or currency conversion. Our Booking Terms explain deposits, balances and currency.
3. What we will never do
- Ask you to pay into a personal bank account, a personal M-Pesa number, a crypto wallet, or by gift cards or money-transfer services to an individual.
- Tell you by email or message alone that our bank details have changed. If our details ever change, we will tell you by phone and on a new, signed invoice, and you can always check with us first.
- Ask for your card number, CVV, PIN or one-time passcode by email, WhatsApp, phone or social media.
- Pressure you to pay within minutes to "hold" a price or permit.
- Contact you as "Meta", "Facebook", "Google" or a bank to ask you to verify an account or pay a fee on our behalf.
4. Before you pay: a two-minute check
- Check the sender's address ends exactly in @geob.co.ke. Look out for look-alike spellings such as "ge0b" or "geob-safaris.com".
- Check the booking reference, names, dates and amount match your quote.
- Check the payee is Geob Ventures.
- For a first payment, or if anything is different from last time, call or WhatsApp us on +254 728 136 167, using the number on this website rather than one in the message, and confirm the details.
5. If something looks wrong
Don't pay, don't click links and don't reply to the message. Forward it to safaris@geob.co.ke or tell us on WhatsApp, and we will confirm within one working day. If you have already paid a suspicious request, contact your bank or mobile-money provider at once (they may be able to stop or recall the payment), then report it to the police. In Kenya you can also report cybercrime to the National Computer and Cybercrimes Coordination Committee and fraud to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
6. Card and M-Pesa security
Card and M-Pesa payments are handled by IntaSend on its own secure pages. We never see or store your full card number or PIN. Our website is served only over encrypted (https) connections.
7. Payments sent elsewhere
We can only treat a payment as received when it reaches our account through the methods above. We will always help you report and trace a fraudulent request that used our name, but we cannot be responsible for money paid to an account that is not ours following a message that did not come from us. Following the check in section 4 protects you.
